BDSRA Australia attended the inaugural 'Challenging Childhood Dementia Symposium' this week in Sydney. Researchers, clinicians and experts were brought together to discuss the needs, barriers and strategies for advancing the development of therapeutics for children with dementia.
Batten disease was strongly represented throughout the day with keynote presentations by our Research Grant recipients A/Prof. Tony Cook (University of Tasmania), Dr Nadia Mitchell (Lincoln University, NZ), Medical Advisory Board Member Dr Nick Smith (Adelaide Women & Children's Hospital) and BDSRA Australia's Dr Ineka Whiteman, who took part in a panel discussion on research funding and priorities.
