International Dementia Conference Presentation

15 October 2020

BDSRA Australia’s Head of Medical & Scientific Affairs and Head of Research, Dr Ineka Whiteman, was invited to present at the International Dementia Conference last month, which was held virtually over two days. This annual conference, hosted by Hammond Care, invites international sector-leading speakers to share the latest insights, research, and evidence-based best practice solutions.

In her presentation entitled ‘Childhood Dementia: The confronting reality of rare paediatric neurological disease”, Dr Whiteman discussed the causes, types, signs and symptoms of childhood dementias, with a focus on Batten disease, and showcased the new education and training collaboration between BDSRA Australia and Dementia Support Australia. What a wonderful opportunity this was to raise awareness and education for Batten disease and childhood dementia on the international stage!
