BDSRA Australia attends the International Dementia Conference in Sydney.

9 September 2022

BDSRA Australia was honoured to participate in the International Dementia Conference in Sydney over the past two days!
Head of Research and Medical Affairs, Dr Ineka Whiteman, spoke about Batten disease and the importance of support resources, education and research during the childhood dementia session today.
We were also thrilled to be involved in the release of TWO books during the meeting! ?
Our new illustrated children’s book ‘Max and Abby’ went like hotcakes during Dr Ineka’s author signing on Day 1! And it was a quick shift in gears, to release the long-awaited ‘BPSD Textbook’, for which Dr Ineka was also a contributing author. This resource aims to improve understanding, care and management of the Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD), including those present in childhood dementias.
Thank you to HammondCare, Dementia Support Australia and the Dementia Centre for hosting such a brilliant meeting, and to our co-panellists today Meg Donnell at Childhood Dementia Initiative and Suzanne Nevin at UNSW.
