BATTEN DISEASE AND CHILDHOOD DEMENTIA TO FEATURE IN UNIVERSITY'S BACHELOR DEGREE

8 October 2021

During her recent visit to the Wicking Dementia Centre, University of Tasmania in Hobart, our Head of Research, Medical and Scientific Affairs, Dr Ineka Whiteman (right), was filmed in an interview with Dr Claire Eccleston (left), who is the University’s Course Coordinator for the Bachelor and Diploma of Dementia Care. Drs Whiteman and Eccleston discussed Batten disease and childhood dementia, their prevalence, causes, treatments and family support mechanisms. This content will form part of the university’s Dementia Care courses in 2022 and beyond. We are so encouraged to see the growing awareness and education around Batten disease and childhood dementia!
